Our Sceptre Gladiator Long Range Standup Tuna Rod is an XH standup rod suitable for tuna, marlin, wahoo, mahi, and a wide variety of pelagic offshore species. Built with the vastly superior, Winthrop roller tip that eliminates line friction by not allowing the smaller diameter braided spectra lines to get in-between the actual roller and the guide frame. This rod has a fast action blank with sensitivity to feel the bite.
This rod may be combined with any of the 30 to 50 LB Class reels we offer in our store, including the Avet HXW Raptor 2 speed reel. Customers who prefer a straight butt, we also have this option available.

The design of this Sceptre Gladiator long-range tuna rods was to provide my customers with a top of the line big game fishing rod featuring ultimate components at a fair price. This rod is available with a variety of reels found in our store. Avet HXW Raptor 2 speed reel, PRO-EX 30 & 50 LB class reels. We also have 30 & 50 LB class reels from Aluttecnos. This rod is ideal for catching tuna on live or dead bait, as well as chunking techniques,
The design of the Winthrop Roller Tip is the industry standard when it comes to big game rod design. The Winthrop roller is set into the frame of the guide, which prevents the thinner diameter braided lines from getting between the roller and the actual guide frame. This is most important for the prevention of line failure due to friction.
