The Okuma Metaloid Series are conventional aluminum click-through ratcheted lever drag reels. The advantage of the ratcheted lever drag has a large number of settings within the reels drag curve, and most importantly, the drag stays put until you decide to change it. Kingfish anglers who want to fish 2 LBS of drag while slow trolling or kite fishing, will love the ratchet drag feature of these reels. The carbonite drag system is very smooth, and the reels construction is solid.
The Okuma Metaloid 12S has a line capacity of 520 yards when used with 20 LB test monofilament, or 80 lb solid braided lines. This reel has ample line capacity for kite fishing, slow trolling, or fishing your baits off the downriggers.
