Sceptre Gladiator Daytime Sword Fishing Unlimited Class XXH Big Game Fishing Rod I designed the Sceptre Gladiator XXH Unlimited Class Daytime Sword Fishing Rod to provide my customers with a top of the line big game fishing rod featuring the absolute best components to do battle offshore at an outstanding price. This XXH heavy rod is available with both swordfish deep drop combos, individually, or combined with any of our 80 to 130 LB class electric or manual fishing reels. The perfect choice for strong current daytime swordfishing applications, providing a stiffer blank, good tip action, and NOT a broomstick. Optional size 18 Winthrop Titanium roller tip guides are an available option for this particular rod model.
The design of the Winthrop Roller Tip is the industry standard when it comes to big game rod design. The Winthrop roller is set into the frame of the guide, which prevents the thinner diameter braided lines from getting between the roller and the actual guide frame. This design prevents line failure due to friction, We use #4 size American Tackle, AFTCO & Stuart brand aluminum uni-butts that are ideal for use with Lindgren Pitman, Kristal, as well as Dolphin electric reels.
